Solicitation of eligible individuals. (Repealed effective December 31, 2027)

1. The association, pursuant to a plan approved by the board, shall disseminate 
appropriate information to the residents of this state regarding the existence of the 
association, the benefit plans, and the means of enrollment. Means of communication 
may include use of the press, radio, electronic mail, internet, and television, as well as 
publication in appropriate state offices and publications.
2. The association and board shall devise and implement means of maintaining public 
awareness of the association and shall administer this chapter in a manner that 
facilitates public participation.
3. All licensed accident and health insurance producers may engage in the selling or 
marketing of association benefit plans. The lead carrier shall pay a referral fee to each 
licensed accident and health insurance producer who refers an applicant to the 
association plan, if the applicant is accepted. The referral fees must be paid to the lead 
carrier from moneys received as premiums for the association benefit plan.
4. Every insurance company that rejects or applies underwriting restrictions to an 
applicant for health insurance shall notify the applicant of the existence of the 
association, requirements for being accepted in it, and the procedure for applying to it.
