Board of directors. (Repealed effective December 31, 2027)

1. The board consists of the commissioner; the state health officer; the director of the 
office of management and budget; one senator appointed by the majority leader of the 
senate of the legislative assembly; one representative appointed by the speaker of the 
house of representatives of the legislative assembly; and one individual from each of 
the three participating member insurance companies of the association with the 
highest annual premium volumes of health insurance coverage as provided by the 
commissioner, verified by the lead carrier, and approved by the board.
2. Members of the board may be reimbursed from the moneys of the association for 
expenses incurred by the members due to their service as board members, but may 
not otherwise be compensated by the association for board services.

3. The costs of conducting the meetings of the association and the board are borne by 
the association.
4. The commissioner shall fill vacancies and, for cause, may remove any board member 
representing one of the three participating member insurance companies.
