Departmental budget estimates - Departmental budgets

Not later than the fifteenth day of May of each year, each head of a department, division, 
section, or activity of the department who may be directed and designated to do so by the 
director shall submit to the director an outline of the work which should be undertaken by such 
department, division, section, or activity during the following fiscal year and the estimated 
expense thereof, in such detail as the director may prescribe, together with such other cost data 
and information as the director shall direct.
Not later than the thirtieth day of June of each year, the director shall adopt a departmental 
budget wherein must be allocated, set aside, and appropriated to each department, division, 
section, or activity of the department for the ensuing fiscal year a definite and fixed sum or 
allowance in such amount and with such detail as the director may elect for the use and 
purpose specified in such departmental budget. Nothing herein, however, prevents the director 
from adding to, amending, revising, or reducing from time to time, and as circumstances may 
warrant, such departmental budget.
