North Carolina Code § 25-2A-104

Leases subject to other law.

(a) A lease, although subject to this Article, is also subject to any applicable:
(1) certificate of title statute of this State (G.S. 20-50, G.S. 75A-32 et seq.);
(2) certificate of title statute of another jurisdiction (G.S. 25-2A-105); or
(3) consumer protection statute of this State, or final consumer protection decision of a court of this State existing on the effective date of this Article.
(b) In case of conflict between this Article, other than G.S. 2A-105, 2A-304(c), and 2A-305(c), and a statute or decision referred to in subsection (a) of this section, the statute or decision controls.
(c) Failure to comply with an applicable law has only the effect specified therein.
