* § 404-y. Distinctive plates for conspicuous service cross\nrecipients.  1. Any conspicuous service cross recipient residing in this\nstate or the spouse of any such recipient shall, upon request, be issued\na license plate bearing the words "conspicuous service cross recipient".\nIf a distinctive plate is issued to a conspicuous service cross\nrecipient pursuant to this section, such a distinctive plate shall not\nbe issued to the spouse of such conspicuous service cross recipient.\nApplication for said license plate shall be filed with the commissioner\nin such form and detail as the commissioner shall prescribe.\n  2. The distinctive plate authorized in subdivision one of this section\nshall be issued upon proof, satisfactory to the commissioner, that the\napplicant or the spouse of the applicant is a conspicuous service cross\nrecipient.\n  3. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon payment of the regular\nregistration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this article;\nprovided, however, that an additional, one-time service charge of ten\ndollars shall be charged for such plate.\n  * NB There are 6 § 404-y's\n
