§ 404-k. Distinctive plates for Marine Corps League members. 1. Any\nmember of the Marine Corps League residing in this state shall, upon\nrequest, be issued a license plate bearing the United States Marine\nCorps emblem and the words "Marine Corps League". Application for said\nlicense plate shall be filed with the commissioner in such form and\ndetail as the commissioner shall prescribe.\n  2. The distinctive plate authorized herein shall be issued upon proof,\nsatisfactory to the commissioner, that the applicant is a member of the\nMarine Corps League.\n  3. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon payment of the regular\nregistration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this article\nprovided, however, that an additional one-time service charge of ten\ndollars shall be charged for such plate.\n
