* § 404-ee. Distinctive Down's syndrome awareness license plates. 1.\nAny person residing in this state shall, upon request, be issued a\ndistinctive license plate in support of Down's syndrome awareness and\nresearch bearing the phrase "Down's Syndrome Awareness" and any other\nphrases and design approved by the commissioner. Application for said\nlicense plate shall be filed with the commissioner in such form and\ndetail as the commissioner shall prescribe.\n 2. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon the payment of the\nregular registration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this\narticle; provided, however, that an additional annual service charge of\ntwenty-five dollars shall be charged for such plates.\n 3. Each twenty-five dollars received as the annual service charge\nunder this section shall be deposited to the credit of the "Down's\nsyndrome research fund" established pursuant to section ninety-nine-ee\nof the state finance law and shall be used for research undertaken\npursuant to section ninety-nine-ee of the state finance law.\n * NB There are 4 § 404-ee's\n
