* § 404-dd. Distinctive plates for members of AMVETS. 1. Any member of\nAMVETS residing in this state shall, upon request, be issued a license\nplate bearing the word "AMVETS". Application for said license plate\nshall be filed with the commissioner in such form and detail as the\ncommissioner shall prescribe.\n  2. The distinctive plate authorized herein shall be issued upon proof,\nsatisfactory to the commissioner, that the applicant is a member of\nAMVETS.\n  3. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued\nin the same manner as other number plates upon payment of the regular\nregistration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this article,\nprovided, however, that an additional one-time service charge of ten\ndollars shall be charged for such plate.\n  4. For the purposes of this section, "AMVETS" shall mean the veterans\nservice organization chartered by congress as a membership corporation\ncreated pursuant to chapter 227 of title 36 of the United States code.\n  * NB There are 2 § 404-dd's\n
