§ 2108. Contents and effect. (a) Each certificate of title issued by\nthe commissioner shall contain:\n (1) The date issued;\n (2) The name and address of the owner;\n (3) The names and addresses of any lienholders, in the order of their\napparent priority as shown on the application or, if the application is\nbased on a certificate of title, as shown on the certificate;\n (4) The title number assigned to the vehicle;\n (5) A description of the vehicle including, so far as the following\ndata exists: its make, year model, identifying number, type of body if a\nmotor vehicle or hull material if a vessel, and whether new or used, and\nany other information required by the commissioner; and\n (6) Any other data the commissioner prescribes.\n (b) The certificate of title shall contain forms for assignment and\nwarranty of title by the owner, and for assignment and warranty of title\nby a dealer, and may contain forms for applications for a certificate of\ntitle by a transferee, the naming of a lienholder and the assignment or\nrelease of the security interest of a lienholder.\n (c) A certificate of title issued by the commissioner is prima facie\nevidence of the facts appearing on it.\n (d) A certificate of title for a vehicle is not subject to\ngarnishment, attachment, execution or other judicial process, but this\nsubsection does not prevent a lawful levy upon the vehicle.\n * (e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a certificate of\ntitle to a vehicle which is a mobile home or a manufactured home issued\nby the commissioner is prima facie evidence of the facts appearing on\nit, notwithstanding the fact that such vehicle, at any time, in any\nmanner, shall have become attached to realty.\n * NB Effective until December 12, 2026\n * (e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a certificate of\ntitle to a vehicle which is a manufactured home issued by the\ncommissioner is prima facie evidence of the facts appearing on it,\nnotwithstanding the fact that such vehicle, at any time, in any manner,\nshall have become affixed in any manner to real property.\n * NB Effective December 12, 2026\n
