Appearance by corporations

§ 501. Appearance by corporations.\n  A corporation may appear as a party in any action brought pursuant to\nthis act except as otherwise provided in section eighteen hundred nine\nthereof by an attorney as well as by any authorized officer, director or\nemployee of the corporation provided that the appearance by a non-lawyer\non behalf of a corporation shall be deemed to constitute the requisite\nauthority to bind the corporation in a settlement or trial. The court or\narbitrator may make reasonable inquiry to determine the authority of any\nperson who appears for the corporation in a case.\n
