§ 2420. Reducing bond on payment. Whenever the sureties of the marshal\nshall pay the amount for which the action on the marshal's bond is\nbrought, and the costs and disbursements incurred therein, or any part\nthereof, they shall be entitled to have such sum credited upon the bond\nupon presenting to the county clerk the affidavit of the plaintiff or\nhis attorney in such action, acknowledging the payment; whereupon said\nclerk shall endorse the payment on the bond and the bond shall be\nreduced by the amount so paid.\n
