§ 214. Oaths, undertakings and compensation of commissioners. Each\ncommissioner, before entering upon the duties of his office, shall take\nthe constitutional oath of office and execute to the town and file with\nthe town clerk an official undertaking in such sum and with such\nsureties as the town board may direct. The town board at any time may\nrequire any such commissioners to file a new official undertaking for\nsuch sum and with such sureties as the board shall approve. Such\ncommissioners may be paid such an amount as the town board may\ndesignate, but not to exceed the sum of one hundred dollars per day each\nfor each day actually and necessarily spent in the service of the\ndistrict. Such compensation shall be deemed an expense of maintaining\nthe district.\n
