Construction across and along canals, rivers and creeks

§ 85. Construction across and along canals, rivers and creeks.  No\npipe line shall be constructed upon or across any of the canals of this\nstate, except by the consent of and in the manner and upon the terms\nprescribed by the, commissioner of transportation, unless constructed\nupon a fixed bridge across such canal, and with the consent of the\nperson for whose benefit such bridge is constructed and maintained, or\nupon such a bridge over the canal, at the crossing of a public highway\nor street, with the consent of the public officers having the\nsupervision thereof, or of the municipal authorities of any village or\ncity within whose limits such bridge may be, nor shall the pipes of any\nsuch corporation be laid through or along the banks of any of the canals\nof this state, nor through or under any of its rivers or creeks, unless\nsuch pipes shall be encased, so as to prevent leakage, in such manner as\nshall be approved by the commissioner of transportation.\n
