* § 99-hh. Criminal justice discovery compensation fund. 1. There is\nhereby established in the joint custody of the state comptroller and the\ncommissioner of taxation and finance a fund to be known as the criminal\njustice discovery compensation fund.\n 3. (a) Monies of the criminal justice discovery compensation fund,\nfollowing appropriation by the legislature and allocation by the\ndirector of the budget, shall be made available for local assistance\nservices and expenses related to discovery reform implementation,\nincluding but not limited to, digital evidence transmission technology,\nadministrative support, computers, hardware and operating software, data\nconnectivity, development of training materials, staff training,\novertime costs, litigation readiness, and pretrial services. Eligible\nentities shall include, but not be limited to counties, cities with\npopulations less than one million, and law enforcement and prosecutorial\nentities within towns and villages.\n (b) The director of the budget shall provide the amount of the monies\nallocated pursuant to this section to the chief administrator of the\ncourts and the division of criminal justice services for the purpose of\ncompleting the report required pursuant to subdivision six of section\ntwo hundred sixteen of the judiciary law.\n * NB There are 4 § 99-hh's\n
