§ 54-h. State aid to local governments for housing maintenance code\nenforcement. 1. The commissioner of housing and community renewal shall\ngrant state aid to cities in the amount of fifty per centum of the\namount of money expended from funds raised by taxes imposed by such city\nduring the city fiscal year, up to a maximum amount of eight million\ndollars in any one year, by a city of over one million population by the\ndepartment of housing preservation and development for enforcement of\nthe multiple dwelling law and any other provision of law, rule or\nregulation in relation to the maintenance, use, occupancy, safety,\nsanitary condition and inspection of any building or portion thereof\nwhich is occupied or arranged or intended to be occupied as the home,\nresidence of one or more human beings, not, however, including one or\ntwo-family houses, as determined by the commissioner of housing and\ncommunity renewal.\n  2. The mayor of each city desiring to make application for state aid\nunder this section shall annually on such dates as may be fixed by the\ncommissioner of the division of housing and community renewal, submit to\nhim the request of such city for such state aid and shall support such\nrequest with such information as the commissioner may require. The\ncommissioner shall prescribe the form in which such information shall be\nsubmitted.\n
