§ 1758. Court jurisdiction\n 1. The jurisdiction of the court to hear proceedings pursuant to this\narticle shall be subject to article eighty-three of the mental hygiene\nlaw.\n 2. After the appointment of a guardian, standby guardian or alternate\nguardians, the court shall have and retain general jurisdiction over the\nperson who is intellectually disabled or person who is developmentally\ndisabled for whom such guardian shall have been appointed, to take of\nits own motion or to entertain and adjudicate such steps and proceedings\nrelating to such guardian, standby, or alternate guardianship as may be\ndeemed necessary or proper for the welfare of such person who is\nintellectually disabled or person who is developmentally disabled.\n
