* § 604-e. Twenty-five year retirement program for dispatcher members.\na. Definitions. The following words and phrases as used in this section\nshall have the following meanings unless a different meaning is plainly\nrequired by the context.\n  1. "Dispatcher member" shall mean a member (as defined in subdivision\ne of section six hundred one of this article) who is employed by the\ncity of New York as a fire alarm dispatcher, a supervising fire alarm\ndispatcher, level one, a supervising fire alarm dispatcher, level two,\ndirector of dispatch operations, or deputy director of dispatch\noperations.\n  2. "Twenty-five year retirement program" shall mean all the terms and\nconditions of this section.\n  3. "Starting date of the twenty-five year retirement program" shall\nmean that date of enactment of this section.\n  4. "Participant in the twenty-five year retirement program" shall mean\nany dispatcher member who, under the applicable provisions of\nsubdivision b of this section, is entitled to the rights, benefits and\nprivileges and is subject to the obligations of the twenty-five year\nretirement program, as applicable to him or her.\n  5. "Discontinued member" shall mean a participant in the twenty-five\nyear retirement program who, while he or she was a dispatcher member,\ndiscontinued service as such a member and has a right to a deferred\nvested benefit under subdivision d of this section.\n  6. "Administrative code" shall mean the administrative code of the\ncity of New York.\n  7. "Allowable service as a dispatcher member" shall mean (i) service\nas a dispatcher member and all service in the following civil service\ntitles: chief fire alarm dispatcher, administrative fire alarm\ndispatcher, bus operator (transit), train dispatcher (transit),\nfirefighter, police officer, correction officer, fire marshal, probation\nofficer, police communications technician, supervising police\ncommunications technician, principal police communications technician,\npolice administrative aide, senior police administrative aide, emergency\nmedical technician, advanced emergency medical technician, emergency\nmedical service specialist level I, emergency medical specialist level\nII, fire prevention inspector, fire protection inspector, senior fire\nprevention inspector, principal fire prevention inspector, associate\nfire protection inspector, county detective, detective (NYPD), detective\ninvestigator, senior detective investigator, deputy sheriff, senior\ndeputy sheriff, inspector of fire alarm boxes, radio operator, radio\nrepair technician, supervisor of radio repair operations, taxi and\nlimousine inspector, senior taxi and limousine inspector, triborough\nbridge and tunnel officer; and (ii) a member of the retirement system\nwho is employed by the city of New York in a title whose duties require\nthe supervision of employees whose civil service title is included in\nsubparagraph (i) of this paragraph.\n  b. Participation in twenty-five year retirement program. 1. Subject to\nthe provisions of paragraphs six and seven of this subdivision, any\nperson who is a dispatcher member on the starting date of the\ntwenty-five year retirement program and who, as such a dispatcher member\nor otherwise, last became subject to the provisions of this article\nprior to such starting date, may elect to become a participant in the\ntwenty-five year retirement program by filing, within one hundred eighty\ndays after the starting date of the twenty-five year retirement program,\na duly executed application for such participation with the retirement\nsystem of which such person is a member, provided he or she is such a\ndispatcher member on the date such application is filed.\n  2. Subject to the provisions of paragraphs six and seven of this\nsubdivision, any person who becomes a dispatcher member after the\nstarting date of the twenty-five year retirement program and who, as\nsuch a dispatcher member or otherwise, last became subject to the\nprovisio
