§ 414. Construction. a. An act of the legislature of the year\nnineteen hundred sixty-six or nineteen hundred sixty-seven which, in\nform, amends or repeals or purports to amend or repeal any provision or\nprovisions of article two of this chapter, as in force and effect\nimmediately prior to April first, nineteen hundred sixty-seven, shall be\ndeemed and construed as an amendment or repeal, as the case may be, of\nthe corresponding provision or provisions of this article.\n b. An act of the legislature of the year nineteen hundred sixty-six or\nnineteen hundred sixty-seven which adds, or purports to add a new\nsection, subdivision or other provision of law to article two of this\nchapter, as in force immediately prior to April first, nineteen hundred\nsixty-seven, shall, except to the extent that the provisions of such act\nare inconsistent with the provisions of this article, be deemed and\nconstrued as having been added to this article and shall be given full\neffect according to its context as if the same had been added expressly\nand in terms to this article, and shall be deemed and construed to have\nbeen inserted in this article in the appropriate position in regard to\nand as modifying the effect of the corresponding provision or provisions\nof this article.\n
