§ 112. Limitation of other statutes. a. No other provision of law in\nany other statute which provides wholly or partly at the expense of the\nstate or of a participating employer for pensions, retirement benefits,\nemoluments or awards for employees in government service, their widows\nor other dependents, shall apply to members or beneficiaries of the\nretirement system continued by this article, their widows or other\ndependents.\n b. This article shall not:\n 1. Prevent a person whose salary is paid from two or more sources,\neach entitling him to membership in a retirement system, from being a\nmember in all such systems, or\n 2. Supersede or make inoperative the provisions of section two hundred\ntwenty-seven of the executive law in so far as they apply to an officer\nor employee in the division of state police of the executive department\nwho is a member of the retirement system.\n 3. Supersede or make inoperative the provisions of sections\ntwenty-five or twenty-five-a of the judiciary law in reference to a\njudicial officer retired from office for disability.\n 4. Prevent the extension of old-age and survivors insurance coverage\nto members of the retirement system or the receipt of benefits therefrom\nby such members, their wives or widows or their other dependents.\n 5. Prevent a member of the state retirement system whose membership is\nauthorized by paragraph nine of subdivision c of section forty of this\narticle, from receiving, upon his subsequent retirement from the state\nretirement system, benefits based on service not included in that upon\nwhich his retirement or pension from another pension or retirement\nsystem is or would be based.\n 6. Prevent payment of a survivor's benefit, pursuant to section one\nhundred fifty-four of the civil service law, on account of the death of\na member of the retirement system.\n c. The provisions of this article shall be operative, notwithstanding\nany contrary provision of law.\n
