§ 1506. Penalty and interest payments in cities and towns in\nRensselaer county. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or\nspecial law to the contrary, the following scale of penalties is hereby\nprescribed for the neglect to pay the county, or town taxes, special ad\nvalorem levies or special assessments in cities and towns in Rensselaer\ncounty: if not paid on or before or during the period of thirty days\nafter the mailing of the tax bills by the collecting official or\nFebruary fifteenth, whichever date shall be the earlier after the notice\nrequired by section nine hundred twenty of this chapter, one per centum\nexcept in towns of the first class and those towns in which a town clerk\nacts as collecting officer, in which towns there shall be no penalty or\ninterest; if paid thereafter and before the last day of March, two per\ncentum in all cities and towns; if paid thereafter and before the last\nday of April, three per centum in all cities and towns; if paid\nthereafter and before the last day of May, four per centum in all cities\nand towns; if paid thereafter and before the last day of June, five per\ncentum in all cities and towns; if paid thereafter and before the last\nday of July, six per centum in all cities and towns; if paid after the\nfirst of August and before the last day of September, eight per centum\nin all cities and towns and if paid thereafter after the first day of\nOctober and the last day of November, ten per centum in all cities and\ntowns, together with expenses of publication of tax sale advertising as\nnow allowed by law.\n
