§ 1721. Notice of petition. Notice of petition shall be given, in the\ndiscretion of the court, to such persons and in such manner as the court\nmay direct. If the proceeding affects the interest of an incompetent\nperson or of a conservatee, notice shall be given to either the\ncommittee of property or the conservator of property, and if the\nincompetent person or conservatee has been committed to a state\ninstitution and is an inmate thereof, also to the attorney-general and\nto the director having jurisdiction over the institution where the\nincompetent or conservatee is confined. If the proceeding affects the\ninterest of an infant who has a general or testamentary guardian of the\nproperty, notice shall be given to such guardian.\n
