§ 187. Certificate of incorporation. If the meeting shall decide that\nsuch unincorporated church or society shall become incorporated, the\npresiding officer of such meeting and the two inspectors of election,\nshall execute and acknowledge a certificate of incorporation, setting\nforth the name of the proposed corporation, the number of trustees\nthereof, the names of the persons elected as trustees, the terms of\noffice for which they were respectively elected and the county and town,\ncity or village in which its principal place of worship is, or is\nintended to be located. On the filing and recording of such certificate,\nas hereinbefore provided in this chapter, the persons qualified to vote\nat such meeting and those persons who shall thereafter, from time to\ntime be qualified voters at the corporate meetings thereof, shall be a\ncorporation by the name stated in such certificate, and the persons\ntherein stated to be elected trustees of such church or society shall be\nthe trustees thereof for the terms for which they were respectively so\nelected, or until their respective successors shall be elected and take\noffice.\n
