§ 4. Rules of construction. 1. The rule that statutes in derogation of\nthe common law are to be strictly construed shall have no application to\nthis chapter.\n  2. The law of estoppel shall apply under this chapter.\n  3. The law of agency shall apply under this chapter.\n  4. This chapter shall be so interpreted and construed as to effect its\ngeneral purpose to make uniform the law of those states which enact it.\n  5. This chapter shall not be construed so as to impair the obligations\nof any contract existing when the chapter goes into effect, nor to\naffect any action or proceedings begun or right accrued before this\nchapter takes effect.\n
