§ 24-b. Notice to be given Long Island power authority prior to rate\nincrease. 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent general, special or local\nlaw or rule or regulation to the contrary, the commission shall to the\nextent the Long Island power authority shall so request in any cases or\nclass of cases, relating to a gas or electric corporation operating\nwithin the service territory of the authority, give notice to the\nauthority of any filed statement proposing to modify or increase rates,\nservices, schedule of rates or any other rating rule or to adopt or\namend any rate or service rules or regulations within five days after\nthe commission shall have received such statement from any gas or\nelectric corporation within the service territory of the Long Island\nPower authority subject to its jurisdiction; provided, however, that in\nlieu of giving such notice, the commission may direct that the gas or\nelectric corporation give such notice to the authority.\n 2. In any such case in which the authority shall file with the\ncommission a statement of intent to be a party, the authority shall have\nand in its discretion may exercise all the rights and privileges of a\nparty.\n 3. For the purposes of this section, the term "authority" shall mean\nthe Long Island power authority, the term "commission" shall mean the\npublic service commission.\n
