Fees for searches and copies of accident and accident reconstruction reports

§ 387. Fees for searches and copies of accident and accident\nreconstruction reports. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary,\nthe fees for searching the records of the authority for an accident\nreport, for furnishing a copy of an accident report, and for furnishing\na copy of an accident reconstruction report shall not exceed the fees\ncharged by the division of state police pursuant to section sixty-six-a\nof the public officers law and/or by the department of motor vehicles\npursuant to section two hundred two of the vehicle and traffic law,\nprovided, however, that no fee shall be charged to any public officer,\nboard or body, or volunteer fire company, for searches or copies of\naccident reports to be used for a public purpose.\n
