* § 1901. Definitions. As used in this title, the following terms\nshall have the following meanings:\n 1. "Authority" shall have the same meaning as in subdivision two of\nsection eighteen hundred fifty-one of this article.\n 2. "Commission" shall mean the public service commission.\n 3. "Departments" shall mean the department of environmental\nconservation, the department of agriculture and markets, the department\nof economic development and the department of public service.\n 4. "Environmental justice area" shall mean a minority or low-income\ncommunity that may bear a disproportionate share of the negative\nenvironmental consequences resulting from industrial, municipal, and\ncommercial operations or the execution of federal, state, local, and\ntribal programs and policies.\n 5. "Host community" shall mean any municipality within which a major\nrenewable energy facility or qualified energy storage system, or any\nportion thereof, has been proposed for development.\n 6. "Renewable energy facility" shall have the same meaning as\nrenewable energy systems defined in section sixty-six-p of the public\nservice law.\n 7. "Municipality" shall mean a county, city, town or village or\npolitical subdivision.\n 8. "Build-ready site" shall mean a site for which the authority has\nsecured permits, property interests, agreements and/or other\nauthorizations necessary to offer such site for further development,\nconstruction and operation of a renewable energy facility, with or\nwithout a paired qualified energy storage system, or a stand-alone\nqualified energy storage system, in accordance with the other provisions\nof this title.\n 9. "Qualified energy storage system" shall have the same meaning as\nqualified energy storage system defined in section seventy-four of the\npublic service law.\n * NB Repealed December 31, 2030\n
