Construction and purchase contracts

* § 1599-g. Construction and purchase contracts. The authority shall\nlet contracts for construction in the same manner as is provided by law\nfor contracts of the city, except that where the estimated expense of a\ncontract does not exceed five thousand dollars, such contracts may be\nentered into without public letting. Nothing in this section shall be\nconstrued to limit the power of the authority to do any construction\ndirectly by the officers, agents and employees of the authority.\nContracts for the purchase of supplies, material and equipment shall be\nlet in the same manner as is provided in this section. If the authority\nshall deem it in the public interest or necessary or desirable to\neffectuate the purposes of this chapter or the economy and efficiency in\nconstruction and operation of a project, the authority by majority vote\nof its members may either reject all bids or readvertise for bids or by\ntwo-thirds vote of its members may accept a bid other than the lowest\nbid; provided however that the reasons for any such vote shall be stated\nin the authority's official minutes.\n  * NB Authority ceased to exist 08/05/2002\n  * NB There are 4 § 1599-g's\n
