Uniform appearance ticket and simplified information

§ 27.03 Uniform appearance ticket and simplified information.  1. The\ncommissioner shall prescribe the form of an appearance ticket and\nsimplified information for all cases involving a violation of any\nprovision of this chapter, articles forty-seven and forty-eight of the\nvehicle and traffic law, or of any local law, ordinance, rule,\nregulation or order adopted or promulgated thereunder, or of any class\nor category of such cases, and to establish procedures for proper\nadministrative controls over the disposition thereof. The commissioner\nmay, in his discretion, combine the form of the uniform appearance\nticket and simplified information authorized by this section with the\nappearance ticket and information authorized under the navigation law.\n  2. The chief executive officer of each local police force including\ncounty, town, city and village police departments, sheriffs, and the\nsuperintendent of state police shall prepare or cause to be prepared\nsuch records and reports as may be prescribed hereunder.\n  3. The commissioner shall have the power to adopt such rules and\nregulations as may be deemed necessary to accomplish the purposes and\nenforce the provisions of this section including requirements for\nreporting by trial courts having jurisdiction over such offenses.\n  4. Any person who disposes of any uniform appearance ticket and\nsimplified information in any other manner than that prescribed by law,\nrule or regulation shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor.\n  5. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any offense for\nwhich a uniform summons and complaint is prescribed by the commissioner\nof motor vehicles pursuant to section two hundred seven of the vehicle\nand traffic law.\n
