§ 62. Miscellaneous provisions. 1. An existing sprinkler installation,\nfire alarm, watchman's clock or fire-detecting system which has been\napproved or accepted by the department having jurisdiction and installed\nbefore July first, nineteen hundred fifty-two, in conformity with rules\nand regulations adopted by the commission, shall, after inspection by\nthe said department, be deemed to be in compliance with the requirements\nof this chapter.\n 2. Where a sprinkler system is required by this article, such system\nshall be constructed to fuse at a temperature not higher than one\nhundred sixty-five degrees Fahrenheit, spaced so as to protect the area\nwhich is required to be sprinklered.\n 3. In furnace, boiler, laundry rooms and other parts of the dwelling\nwhere high temperature usually prevails, sprinkler heads may fuse at a\nhigher temperature. Where such rooms are located at least thirty feet\ndistant from such dwelling, no sprinklers shall be required.\n 4. Except as otherwise provided in sections fifty-two and fifty-five,\nan approved fire-detecting system shall be accepted as meeting any\nrequirement for a sprinkler system under this article.\n
