* § 13.43 First responder training.\n (a) The commissioner, in consultation with the commissioner of health,\nthe office of fire prevention and control, the municipal police training\ncouncil, and the superintendent of state police, shall develop a\ntraining program and associated training materials, to provide\ninstruction and information to firefighters, police officers and\nemergency medical services personnel on appropriate recognition and\nresponse techniques for handling emergency situations involving\nindividuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental\ndisabilities. The training program and associated training materials\nshall include any other information deemed necessary and appropriate by\nthe commissioner.\n (b) Such training shall address appropriate response techniques for\ndealing with both adults and minors with autism spectrum disorder and\nother developmental disabilities, including but not limited to training\non the appropriate use of force on such individuals, as well as training\non appropriate techniques for deescalating encounters with such\nindividuals that is consistent with such individual's safety.\n (c) Such training program may be developed as an online program.\n * NB There are 2 § 13.43's\n
