§ 878. Employee education and training. 1. Every employer shall\ninstitute an education and training program for employees routinely\nexposed to toxic substances.\n  2. The education and training program shall commence prior to initial\nassignment and shall be repeated at least annually thereafter.\nAdditional instruction must be provided whenever the potential for\nexposure to toxic substances is altered.\n  3. The education and training program shall include, but may not be\nlimited to, the following:\n  (a) the location of toxic substances to which the employee may be\nexposed;\n  (b) the properties of toxic substances to which employees may be\nexposed;\n  (c) the name or names of the toxic substance, including the generic or\nchemical name;\n  (d) the trade name of the chemical and any other commonly used name;\n  (e) the acute and chronic effects of exposure at hazardous levels;\n  (f) the symptoms of effects of exposure at hazardous levels;\n  (g) the potential for flammability, explosion and reactivity of such\nsubstance;\n  (h) appropriate emergency treatment;\n  (i) proper conditions for safe use and exposure to such toxic\nsubstance;\n  (j) procedures for cleanup of leaks and spills of such toxic\nsubstance.\n
