Average annual wage; average weekly wage

§ 529. Average annual wage; average weekly wage. * 1. The "average\nannual wage" shall be the average annual wage of the state of New York\nfor the previous calendar year as determined by the commissioner no\nlater than the thirty-first day of May of each year.\n  * NB Effective until certain provisions are met (see Ch. 56 of 2025,\nPart KK, § 4)\n  * 1. The "average annual wage" shall be the average annual wage of the\nstate of New York for the previous calendar year as determined by the\ncommissioner no later than the thirty-first day of May of each year. For\npurposes of calculating "wages" pursuant to paragraph (a) of subdivision\none of section five hundred eighteen of this title only, the "average\nannual wage" shall be calculated using the four most recent quarters of\npublished New York state quarterly census of employment and wages data.\n  * NB Effective upon certain provisions (see Ch. 56 of 2025, Part KK, §\n4)\n  2. The "average weekly wage" shall be the average weekly wage of the\nstate of New York for the previous calendar year as determined by the\ncommissioner no later than the thirty-first day of May of each year.\n
