§ 343. Duties. The special task force is charged with the following\nduties: 1. To inspect manufacturers and contractors, with respect to\ntheir respective production employees, for compliance with the\nregistration requirements of section three hundred forty-one of this\narticle;\n 2. To inspect manufacturers and contractors, with respect to their\nrespective production employees, for compliance with the labor law;\n 3. To insure, with respect to their respective production employees,\ncompliance by manufacturers and contractors with the orders of, and\nassessments of civil penalties by, the commissioner pursuant to this\narticle; and\n 4. To submit annual reports to the governor, the temporary president\nof the senate, the speaker of the assembly, and the chairpersons of the\nsenate and assembly labor committees detailing:\n (a) the number of complaints, investigations and dispositions by the\ntask force including any resulting fines, restitution, referrals to the\nattorney general and criminal prosecutions;\n (b) the number of investigators and other filled staff positions on\nthe task force including the total number of authorized positions and\nwhether any investigators are bilingual and, if so, in what language;\n (c) the amount of money allocated annually by the department and the\namount actually spent; and\n (d) any recommendations for improving enforcement efforts against\napparel manufacturers and contractors which violate the law.\n
