Special laws and local ordinances

§ 275. Special laws and local ordinances. The requirements of sections\ntwo hundred and seventy to two hundred and seventy-four, inclusive, are\nnot in substitution for the requirements of any general or special law\nor local ordinance relating to the construction, equipment or\nmaintenance of buildings, but the provisions of such general and special\nlaws and local ordinances shall be observed as well as the provisions of\nsaid sections. The provisions of sections two hundred and seventy to two\nhundred and seventy-four, inclusive, shall supersede all provisions\ninconsistent therewith in any special law or local ordinance, and any\nprovision of law or ordinance which gives power to any officer to\nestablish requirements inconsistent with the provisions of such sections\nor the rules adopted by the board under the provisions of this chapter.\n
