§ 10-c. Workforce guidance and information for women initiative. 1.\nThe department shall provide guidance to local workforce investment\nboards and staff, to enable them to better educate and inform both women\nand men about higher paying jobs and careers including jobs\ntraditionally dominated by men. Such guidance shall promote program\nservices for job seekers that provide:\n  (a) current information about compensation for jobs and careers that\noffer high earning potential including jobs that are traditionally\ndominated by men;\n  (b) counseling, skills development and training that encourage both\nwomen and men to seek employment in such jobs;\n  (c) referrals to employers offering such jobs; and\n  (d) current local labor market information regarding the gender wage\ngap and specific self-sufficiency rates for families living and working\nin that local labor market.\n  2. The commissioner shall prepare and submit to the governor, the\ntemporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly an\nannual evaluation report of the initiative no later than January first,\ntwo thousand eighteen, and every year thereafter. The report shall\ninclude:\n  (a) how many women were referred to counseling or skills development\nand training for jobs and careers that offer high earning potential,\nincluding jobs traditionally dominated by men;\n  (b) how many women were referred to such jobs;\n  (c) the ratio of women to men in such jobs and any change in that\nratio from the previous year; and\n  (d) any other information the commissioner deems relevant.\n
