§ 404. Sheriff or constable not required to attend special term\nsupreme court in certain cases. Where a special term of the supreme\ncourt is adjourned to the chambers of a justice of the court, pursuant\nto section one hundred and forty-seven of this chapter, the attendance\nof the sheriff or a constable is not required unless the justice directs\nthem to attend.\n
