§ 294. Stenographers of courts must file oath of office. Each\nstenographer specified in this chapter or the civil practice act,\nsurrogate's court act, court of claims act or New York city civil court\nact, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, must subscribe\nthe constitutional oath of office, and file the same in the office of\nthe clerk of the court, or, in the supreme court, in the office of the\nclerk of the county where the term sits, or the judge resides, by which\nor by whom he is appointed.\n
