§ 220. Compensation of judges and justices to be a state charge. The\nsalaries and expenses of judges and justices of the unified court\nsystem, except justices of town and village courts, shall be paid by the\nstate subject to the provisions of section thirty-nine of this chapter.\nSalaries shall be paid in twenty-six bi-weekly installments.\n
