§ 205. Gratuities; prohibited payments to department personnel. (a) No\ninsurer or other person subject to this chapter, nor any other insurer\nor person shall directly or indirectly confer, or offer to confer, any\nmoney or other valuable benefit, whether in the form of payment, loan,\ncredit, or otherwise, upon the superintendent, any deputy, or any\nemployee of the department, by way of gratuity or for service or\npretended service. Neither the superintendent, any deputy, nor any\nemployee of the department shall accept, or offer to accept, any such\nmoney or benefit.\n  (b) Subsection (a) hereof shall not prohibit the payment of\ncompensation to any stenographer for transcripts of hearings or\nconferences, except that the superintendent may prescribe, by\nregulation, the conditions under which such transcripts may be furnished\nand the compensation therefor.\n
