§ 244. Report of town superintendents, and levy of tax. The town\nsuperintendent of each town shall make a full and verified report of\ntheir proceedings in the premises including an accurate account of what\nhas been done in respect to such bridge, and shall attach thereto a copy\nof the order granted by the supreme court. Such report, account and\norder shall be certified by the town board and delivered to the\nsupervisor and be presented by him to the board of supervisors of his\ncounty. The board of supervisors at their annual meeting shall levy a\ntax upon each of such towns, when in the same county, and upon the\nappropriate towns when in different counties, for its share of the costs\nof building, rebuilding and repairing such bridge, after deducting all\npayments actually made by the supervisor upon the written order of the\ntown superintendent. Such tax, including all payments, shall in no case\nexceed the amount specified in the order of the supreme court.\n
