Limitation on acquisition of water rights in Dutchess county

§ 75. Limitation on acquisition of water rights in Dutchess county.\nNotwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law, a\nmunicipal or other corporation shall not have power to acquire by\ncondemnation for the purpose of increasing or improving its water\nsupply, any stream or water, situated outside the boundaries of such\nmunicipal corporation, that flows through the town of Fishkill,\nWappingers or Poughkeepsie into the Hudson river, which stream or water\naffords the chief source of power to, or is necessary in the process of\nmanufacturing, washing or dyeing in, a mill situated in a city or\nvillage within the county of Dutchess, the inhabitants whereof are\nchiefly dependent on such mill for employment and support.\n
