Exemption from prosecution

§ 494. Exemption from prosecution.  No person or corporation lawfully\nconducting, or participating in the conduct of bingo or permitting the\nconduct upon any premises owned or leased by him or it under any license\nlawfully issued pursuant to this article, shall be liable to prosecution\nor conviction for violation of any provision of article two hundred\ntwenty-five of the penal law or any other law or ordinance to the extent\nthat such conduct is specifically authorized by this article, but this\nimmunity shall not extend to any person or corporation knowingly\nconducting or participating in the conduct of bingo under any license\nobtained by any false pretense or by any false statement made in any\napplication for license or otherwise, or permitting the conduct upon any\npremises owned or leased by him or it of any game of bingo conducted\nunder any license known to him or it to have been obtained by any such\nfalse pretense or statement.\n
