§ 906. Driver's license verification; data retention. 1. A\npeer-to-peer car sharing program administrator shall not enter into a\npeer-to-peer car sharing program agreement with a driver unless the\ndriver who will operate the shared vehicle furnishes proof, by\nelectronic means or otherwise, of:\n (a) a valid New York driver's license which authorizes the driver to\noperate vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle;\n (b) a valid driver's license issued by the state or country of the\ndriver's residence which authorizes the driver in such state or country\nto drive vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle and is the age\nrequired of a New York resident to operate that class of vehicle; or\n (c) being otherwise specifically authorized by a valid license to\noperate vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle.\n 2. A peer-to-peer car sharing program administrator shall keep a\nrecord of:\n (a) the name and address of the shared vehicle driver;\n (b) the identification number of the driver's license of the shared\nvehicle driver and each other person, if any, who shall operate the\nshared vehicle; and\n (c) the date and place of issuance of the driver's license for each\nsuch vehicle operator.\n
