§ 611. Permanently neglected child; purpose of part. The purpose of\nthis part is to provide the procedures for proceedings initiated in\nfamily court, pursuant to section three hundred eighty-four-b of the\nsocial services law, for the commitment of the guardianship and custody\nof a child upon the ground that the child is a permanently neglected\nchild. As used in this part "permanently neglected child" shall mean\npermanently neglected child as defined in subdivision seven of section\nthree hundred eighty-four-b of the social services law, and unless the\ncontext requires otherwise, the provisions of such section three hundred\neighty-four-b shall be deemed applicable requirements in addition to the\nprocedures contained in this part. All references in this part to\npetitions and proceedings initiated "under this part" shall be deemed\nreferences to petitions and proceedings initiated under section three\nhundred eighty-four-b of the social services law upon the ground that\nthe child is a permanently neglected child.\n
