§ 535. Counsel for social services commissioner. (a) The corporation\ncounsel of the city of New York shall represent the social services\ncommissioner of such city in all proceedings under this article in which\nthe commissioner is the petitioner.\n  (b) In any county outside the city of New York in which attorneys have\nbeen appointed pursuant to section sixty-six of the social services law,\nsuch attorneys may represent the social services commissioner of such\ncounty in all proceedings under this article in which the commissioner\nis the petitioner.\n  (c) Except as provided in subdivision (b) of this section, in any\ncounty outside the city of New York, the county attorney, or an attorney\ndesignated by the county executive, if there be one, otherwise by the\nboard of supervisors, shall represent the social services commissioner\nof the county in all proceedings under this article in which the\ncommissioner is the petitioner.\n
