§ 432. Definitions. As used in this article, the following terms shall\nhave the following meanings:\n  1. "Control commission" or "commission" shall mean the New York state\ngaming commission created pursuant to section one hundred two of the\nracing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law.\n  2. "Municipality" shall mean any city, town or village within this\nstate.\n  3. "Bingo" or "game" shall mean a specific game of chance, commonly\nknown as bingo or lotto, in which prizes are awarded on the basis of\ndesignated numbers or symbols on a card conforming to numbers or symbols\nselected at random.\n  4. "Authorized organization" shall mean any bona fide religious or\ncharitable organization or bona fide educational, fraternal, civic or\nservice organization or bona fide organization of veterans, volunteer\nfirefighters, or volunteer ambulance workers, which by its charter,\ncertificate of incorporation, constitution, or act of the legislature,\nshall have as its dominant purpose or purposes one or more of the lawful\npurposes as defined in the bingo licensing law, provided that each shall\noperate without profit to its members, and provided that each such\norganization has engaged in serving one or more of the lawful purposes\nas defined in the bingo licensing law, article fourteen-H of the general\nmunicipal law, for a period of one year immediately prior to applying\nfor a license under the licensing law.\n  5. "Bingo licensing law" shall mean article fourteen-h of the general\nmunicipal law.\n
