§ 160-vvvv. Violations. 1. Any person or company who fails to obtain a\ncertificate of registration required pursuant to this article shall be\nguilty of a misdemeanor.\n  2. Criminal actions for failure to obtain a certificate of\nregistration may also be prosecuted by the attorney general, or his or\nher deputy, in the name of the people of the state, and in any such\nprosecution the attorney general, or his or her deputy, may exercise all\nthe powers and perform all the duties the district attorney is otherwise\nauthorized to exercise or to perform therein.\n
