§ 56-0513. Permit waivers.\n  1. The department shall be exempt from the requirement to obtain any\nstate or local permit or other authorization for any activity needed to\nimplement a project to investigate or remediate contamination pursuant\nto this title; provided that the activity is conducted in a manner which\nsatisfies all substantive technical requirements applicable to like\nactivity conducted pursuant to a permit.\n  2. The department, by and through the commissioner, shall be\nauthorized to exempt any agent, consultant, or contractor of the\ndepartment from the requirement to obtain any state or local permit or\nother authorization for any activity needed to implement a project to\ninvestigate or remediate contamination pursuant to this title; provided\nthat the activity is conducted in a manner which satisfies all\nsubstantive technical requirements applicable to like activity conducted\npursuant to a permit.\n
