§ 37-1003. Furniture and mattresses.\n  1. Beginning December first, two thousand twenty-four, no person shall\nsell or offer for sale in the state of New York any new, not previously\nowned, upholstered furniture or mattress, that contains, or a\nconstituent component of which contains, any covered flame retardant\nchemical, individually or in combination, that is any of the following:\n  (a) At or above levels set by the department in regulation; or\n  (b) Intentionally added.\n  2. Beginning December first, two thousand twenty-five, a custom\nupholsterer in the state of New York shall not repair, reupholster,\nre-cover, restore, or renew upholstered furniture or reupholstered\nfurniture using replacement components that contain any covered flame\nretardant chemical, individually or in combination, that is any of the\nfollowing:\n  (a) At or above levels set by the department in regulation; or\n  (b) Intentionally added.\n
