§ 3-0115. Establishment of forestry and wildlife management areas by\n United States; consent of state.\n 1. To implement and supplement federal statutes now in effect and to\nauthorize the acquisition by the United States of America of upland area\nfor conservation purposes, the consent of the State of New York is\nhereby granted to the United States of America:\n a. To acquire, on or before July 1, 1940, by means of purchase,\ndevise, gift or condemnation such upland areas in the State of New York\nand outside the statutory boundaries of the Adirondack and Catskill\nparks as are necessary and suitable for forestry and wildlife management\nareas; and\n b. To forest or reforest such areas and to construct or erect upon\nsuch lands, such truck trails, bridges, ditches, fire lanes, water\nholes, service structures and similar improvements as are necessary for\nthe protection and administration of these lands as forestry or wildlife\nmanagement areas; and\n c. To hold title to such upland areas herein described and heretofore\nacquired for the foregoing purposes, reserving, however, to the State of\nNew York, full and complete jurisdiction and authority over all such\nareas not incompatible with the administration, maintenance, and\nprotection thereof by the United States of America; provided, however,\nthat the United States of America shall make no regulations governing\nsuch areas which shall be in conflict with the provisions of the\nConservation Law, as amended or as may hereafter be amended, or those\nprovisions of the Environmental Conservation Law of the State of New\nYork which were derived from the Conservation Law.\n 2. Such lands as are under contract of purchase by the United States\nof America, or to acquire which condemnation proceedings have been\ncommenced on or before July 1, 1940 shall be deemed acquired within the\nmeaning of paragraph a of subdivision one of this section.\n
